Someone found a letter you wrote me on the radio...
And they told the world just how you felt...Yes, Donna Summer is stuck in my head right now.
I did my first radio show to day with my co-host Natalie. All in all I have to say it was quite rough. The equipment in our studio is not up-to-date so it's sort of just a hit or miss with if things are going to work or not. We were stuck with only one CD player so we tried to hook up our laptops so we could have a second CD player, but when we tried to play the CDs, no sound came out and we had a few spots of dead air (not good). So here we are scrambling to switch CDs and stuff and trying to figure out what to talk about. It took about 30 minutes for the station manager to show up to help us out, and then when he plugged up my laptop it started to work. I hate it when that happens. You know when something isn't working and then you ask someone else to help you out and they do the same thing that you did and it starts to work. What's up with that? Anyways, it was a rough two hours, but we got through it and it was a lot of fun.
Okay, so I think I have a story idea for my final assignment for reporting for mass media. It's something that I wanted to do a documentary clip on, so this would be a great thing to do a story on. I want to do a story about improving our history classes, especially in middle school and high school. Pretty much, I want to look at why history classes do not use what is going on in today's world or resent world history to illuminate historical events that happened in the past. With every history class that I have had, it seems like we were just learning dates and not really talking about the significance of those events. Then there's a lot of details that are covered up or "tweaked" to make something look better. Anyways there are a lot of things that are going on with that that would make an interesting story. I'll have to work it out so that I can write a cohesive story memo, but I think it's something worth while.
I haven't made a video for YouTube in seven months, and I got my first subscriber today, which is getting me to think about doing an actual vlog. I wanted to do it for a while but I haven't brought my own webcam, and my mom's sucks. And my microphone broke. But I might get a new microphone or headset and start to do it.
I'm going to go and do some homework Ugh! I really am looking forward to graduating in a couple of years.
