I've been up since 5:30 this morning gathering quotes and writing questions for phone interviews today. The story is due tomorrow, but because I have to go to the doctor I need to get it done tonight and send it to him via e-mail. I feel really tired, but I have an interview to do at 11:30 a.m. today and one at 1 p.m. I took today off because I wanted to make sure I get this story done.
So now I'm going to take a break. Usually I keep my cool, but I still want to kill my professor for not sending me an e-mail sooner or calling me to tell me that he approved my story memo. GRRRRRR!!!!!!! It is getting me to question if going into media is the right thing for me.
For those who don't really care to read what I have to say, but is interested in sharing with me you story about the time you were discriminated against because of your age, check out the bold text.
So I had this brilliant idea for a story to write for my final project for reporting for mass media class: age discrimination against young people. We had to write a query letter, that is due today, for a publication to write this story. Well, I don't know who I would write it for. I was hoping there was a national publication for 18-29 year olds that dealt with issues that affect 20somethings such as the quarterlife crisis, etc. Well, I didn't find it. If I don't get this query letter done today, I don't get the 10 points, which is okay. However, I still need to do it.
Does anyone know a good publication where I can get this published?
As of this semester in university I'm a freelance writer, and for my final project in my reporting for mass media I want to do a story about age discrimination against young people (preferably amongst twenty-somethings). So, I'm calling for a little help from my friends. Has there ever been something that you tried to do such as buy a house, a car, or anything like that, but was turned down because of your age? If you are willing to share your story and be interviewed about it, send me an e-mail at soupytwist616@gmail.com with a description of what happened with contact information (including a phone number). Your help will be greatly appreciated!
