I have to return my camera :( The USB port seems to be faulty which is why I can't upload any pictures. This sucks, this sucks, THIS SUCKS. I want to get a replacement, and hopefully it will work!
The software for my camera or the usb cable is not working. I've tried my laptop and my mom's computer and I can't upload my pics to either one. My camera says there is a communication error. I've got to call the tech peeps tomorrow when they are open. THIS SUCKS!
I'm stick sick with the nastly head cold that plagued me last week...This thing needs to go a way NOW! I was getting better, but then my throat started to ache again. I think the AC at work is helping to make things worse, but with out it on thing would be really muggy and miserable. After today, I won't be working here (I'm currently at work, BTW) eight hours at a time. I get tomorrow off, and then come back on Thrusday and on Saturday. It sucks that I won't be making as much money, but I'm happy that I still have a job.
In other news, my father sent me a message via Facebook telling me that he is getting a divorce from my stepmother. He also tells me that he met another woman, but this was after the shit hit the fan. Honestly, I don't know how to feel. Because he was absent in my life for about 15 years, I don't feel much for him. However, I feel bad for my siblings having to go through this. I mean, even I was put off because the divorce proceedings just started and he is already in a relationship with someone else. It must be hard for them. I haven't really responded because I don't know how to respond. Hopefully he keep them in mind through this thing. This whole summer has been chalked with disfunction family wise, it seems. I just hope it chills out during the school year because it is already going to be stressful as it is.
In good news, I got my camera! I've been tinkering around with it a little yesterday, and so far it seem really good. I got a FUJIFILM FinePix S1500, and from the reviews I've seen, the camera is pretty damn good for the price. Compared to my very first digital camera I brought, it is 100 times better. I took a few shots here and there and the pictures came out really clear. I hope to start posting some picks pretty soon here of stuff, but I have to read the manual first because I don't have too much of an idea of where everything is on the camera, what all the modes are, and such. Maybe today I'll start on my scarf (for real this time) and take picks of my progress.
*sings* I brought a camera! I brought a camera! I brought a camera! Hey,hey, hey hey! *end singing* So a few days a go, I realized that I had enough in checking account to buy a pretty decent quality camera. So, I looked on newegg.com to see what they had. After a few days of deliberation, I decided to buy this one:
I wanted something that was a little more advance than the average point and shoot. I really wanted a DSLR camera (either Canon Digital Rebel or maybe one from Nikon), but I don't have the money to buy one...well, technically I do, but I don't want to dish out all of my money for a camera. So far, the reviews I seen are pretty good. For it's price, it takes good quality pictures and some people who use it say that they take with them to shoot photos along with they SLR's and it works wonderfully. It may not be the sleekest camera in the world, but if it takes good pictures then it's good to me. It just got shipped yesterday fron New York and is currently in Louisville, KY. According to the UPS tracker, it should be here by the 31st, so we'll see. I also got a package deal, so it comes with a mini tripod, camera bag, lens cleaning wipes, batteries and charger, and...well I think that's it. I can't wait to snap some photos and see how they come out. This also give me incentive to knit more and post pictures of my progress.
Last night, I couldn't go to sleep for some reason. I tossed and turned. I put a pillow over my head. I buried myself under my comforters. I still couldn't go sleep. So I stayed up to watch the sunrise, and I really wanted to take a picture, but I didn't have a camera.
I've been camera deprived for too long. So I decided that my first electronic investment I make will be in a digital camera. My mom would order it from Fingerhut and I'd pay on it monthly.
See, the thing is I want to put something on my flickr account! I feel left out. I want to be apart of the flickr community and take cool pictures and show them off. I'm always seeing things to take pictures of and can't because I don't have a camera. And I want to show off my crafts projects that I'm doing.
I think I'm going to take a few photography classes so I know a thing or two about capturing great photos.
I'm so happy!!!!! Yay! OMG! I'm not going to be broke anymore!
Alright, yesterday was my first day at work. For a while I thought I wasn't going to be able to go to work because I had a really bad migraine and vertigo that morning, and I couldn't go to class. I've been under so much stress lately that it's really been getting to me physically. (I can't wait until fall break!) I felt better that afternoon and decided to go to work. I'm working at a small packaging and shipping company. It pays $9.00 an hour (my uncle is a tiny bit jealous because I get paid more than he does). For the most part, I'm only going to get to work for 2.5 hours during the rest of the fall and spring semesters. I'll probably end up working 8 hours during winter break and Jan term. I like this job because I can come in and work as long as I want to, or just do the 2.5 hours when I have classes. It's so flexible and easy!
Friday, the packages we had to assemble were little bags with energy saving stuff from the electric company to give to it's customers who are on their low income program. All we had to do was put in mini calendars and letters into 24 bags, seal the bags, and put them in boxes. It was great because I was at peace at work. I wasn't thinking about school, newspaper, or home; I was just thinking about making sure each bag had the six things inside and putting the calendars and letters inside of them.
I'm looking forward to Wednesday and Friday because I'll be able to work more hours and get more money. I'm trying to save up for getting a video camera and editing software so that I can start doing documentary projects.
I would love to get something like this:
But this cost a bit too much (about $3,000) So I'm going to try to get something else that's pretty good but a bit cheaper (say about $500)
I also want to get a good camera to take pictures with. Maybe a Nikon or a Canon.
Anyways, I'm employed and I'm on my way to not being broke anymore.
