It is indeed my birthday, and my gift that I received from my co-worker...a head cold. I'm feeling more miserable by the minute. I told her that she should have stayed home during the worst of it, but no. Now I have her cold.
In lighter news, a few days ago while at work, one of the little girls that I work with saw me knitting (I'm working on a simple scarf) and she wanted to learn. I did not have any extra needles nor any ones small enough for her to handle well. Luckily for her however, while I was talking to her, I messed up quite a bit and decided to start all over again, so I showed her how to cast on and how to do the knit stitch. She sort of picked up on it, but because of her impatience she did not listen completely. After a while she got bored, but she said that she would like to learn more someday since she thought it was really cool. This made me quite happy.
I think I'm going to go to sleep now. I just feel so groggy. This is not how I should be feeling on my birthday!
Well, I hope you all have had a good Christmas morning. So far mines has gotten off on the wrong foot, no pun intended. Another five inches of snow fell and mom and I when out to shovel. This time, I noticed my feet started to ache a bit so I decided to go inside. Later the ache intensified and I rushed to take off my wet clothes to put on something warm. I laid up in the couch and endured the most intense pain, burning, and itching in my life. It lasted about four minutes, but it was sheer hell. Perhaps my feet got too cold or something (I was wearing boots). I don't know...it was weird and I don't ever want to shovel snow ever again! My feet still feel like rubbish thought they are not nearly as bad as they were when the four minutes of hell occurred.
I think I'm going to have some pulled pork and mac 'n cheese and read a bit.
It is a bit warmer tonight...27 degrees. I'm quite happy about that, however I am NOT happy that we have even more snow. I'm tired of shoveling!!!!! If you were to walk through my backyard, not that anyone would be foolish enough to do so, and you're 5'6" the snow would probably reach up to one's chest or pretty close to. There is tons of it!
I have come to the realization that I hate frying. I had to make chicken fingers today since everyone was asking me to. I reluctantly took up the task. I nearly burned down the house, but nevertheless they came out tasting great. But, I never want to fry a single thing again.
I have a question. Am I the only one who does commentary about the movement of the lava/plasma/whatever the stuff is called in lava lamps. I have my lava lamp going and I'm sort of doing "sport commentary" on the lumps of plasma as they collide and elude one another.
Enough of my ramblings, I'm going to bed. 'Night!
I think autumn has offically begun here even though it's not yet the day of the equinox. I'm freezing my ass off and I have two comforters on my bed, thermals, and I'm wearing socks in bed. It's insane. I think I'm going to do as the Japanese do and get a portable electric heater to put in my room.
I really must be bored because I'm actually watching TMZ on FOX right now. I don't like hearing celebrity gossip. I don't really care what they do. They will make mistakes because they are human and we tend to do stupid crap from time to time.
I'm going to bed. I have an early day tomorrow.
